Yakitori - Japanese Skewered Grilled Chicken

This makes 4 servings of Yakitori. Yakitori is a Japanese skewered grilled chicken dish where the chicken is coated in a tare sauce that is pretty much a teriyaki sauce consisting of mirin, sake, soy sauce and sugar.

Yakitori Ingredients:

3 tablespoons soy
3 tablespoons mirin
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon dehydrated cane sugar
1 pound chicken breast (cut into bite sized pieces)
green onions (cut into 1 inch long pieces, optional)

Yakitori Preparation:

1. Mix the soy, mirin, sake and dehydrated sugar and marinate the chicken for at least 20 minutes.
2. Skewer the chicken and green onions in alternating order.
3. Grill the skewered chicken, basting it with the marinade until the chicken is cooked.
